Completed projects include lobby and public restroom refurbishment, parking lot asphalt repair, mechanical upgrades to the refrigeration system and a migration to a customer-friendly online scheduling system. Major projects planned for 2018 include:
- New dehumidification and HVAC systems
- Mechanical overhaul of ice-making equipment to ensure our customers have reliable, quality ice
- 40+ cosmetic, mechanical and technology upgrades
Black Bear acquired the arena in 2018 and began a large-scale mechanical equipment overhaul including replacement of the chillers and dehumidifiers. In addition, significant cosmetic and practical improvements were completed including:
- Parking lot re-paving and repair
- Public restroom and locker room renovation
- New rental skates for beginner skaters and hockey players
- Plexi-glass replacement to improve spectator viewing
Black Bear acquired Ice Land in 2018 and immediately replaced a broken dehumidifier to transform the rink's wet and foggy environment into a crisp and clear ice surface. In addition, Black Bear has ongoing cosmetic and amenity improvement projects underway including:
