​Black Bear acquired the arena in August 2017 and implemented a capital improvement plan including:

• Upgraded the fitness equipment, replaced rubber flooring with indoor turf, added an artificial ice surface, and expanded the training footprint of the Heartland Performance Training Gym within the first two months of ownership
• Refurbish public locker rooms
• Replace the heated sub-floor underneath the ice surface to improve ice quality 
• 50+ cosmetic, mechanical, and technology upgrades
